Carole King

Hyde Park, Hyde Park London, W2 2UH
  • World Exclusive: Carole King performs Tapestry in full, live for the first time, at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park on Sunday 3rd July 2016.
A true landmark event, in the beautiful summer surroundings of central London's Hyde Park, sit back and experience Tapestry, one of the greatest albums of all time, like never before.
Carole King's first concert in London in almost 3 decades will also feature special guests Don Henley (The Eagles) and Louise Goffin, and many of her other indelible hits.
A hit songwriter since the early 60s, Carole King wrote a myriad of hits in New York City with husband Gerry Goffin that defined 1960s American pop, including Will You Love Me Tomorrow for The Shirelles, Up On the Roof for The Drifters, (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman for Aretha Franklin, The Locomotion for Little Eva and Pleasant Valley Sunday for the Monkees. One of the most successful and prolific writers in music history, over 400 of Carole King's songs have been recorded by over 1,000 artists.

On divorcing Goffin, King moved to California’s Laurel Canyon, finding herself among like minded neighbours including Joni Mitchell and James Taylor. Here she wrote Tapestry in 1971 and connected with millions around the world, representing a breakthrough for female artists and is a timeless record that improves with every listen.
With over 25 million copies copies sold, Tapestry includes the classic tracks: I Feel The Earth Move, So Far Away, It’s Too Late, Home Again, Beautiful, Way Over Yonder, You’ve Got A Friend, Where You Lead, Will You Love Me Tomorrow?, Smackwater Jack, Tapestry, and (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman.
One of the greatest albums of all time has never been performed live in its entirety, until now. Carole King's Tapestry instantly transports a whole generation back to the 1970s golden age of Californian singer songwriters, while continuing to inspire cover versions to this day. It has even inspired a hit musical on both sides of the Atlantic - ‘Beautiful’, about Carole King's extraordinary life.
Destined to be among 2016’s most talked about events, Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park invites you to relive one of music’s great records.
